A long journey

and a Leap of Faith

It all got started at a young age. I would often wonder how things worked, how they were built, and even more importantly how to get them apart. At this time, putting them back together wasn't a concern. Along with this, I found my love of art; I just didnt know at this time that you could combine the two.

As I grew and heard stories from my dad about the cars hes built, the clubs he was in and a by gone era. I became hooked on all things automotive. My mom loved the fact me and my dad had something in common. The whole time they encouraged me to keep pursuing the arts.

In comes a father son project and my first car. A 1963 AMC Rambler 770. We pushed the envelope of what I knew and also the Rambler world by taking the entire drive train from a Nova and making it Chevy powered. Next was looks, which I kept subtle with a few shaved items here and there and a relatively close to stock color scheme. All in all for a home build, first time (for me anyways) project, it actually turned better than I imagined. It won several awards at local car shows and I knew this is what I wanted to do.

All while this build was happening I knew I wanted to be a custom painter. I bought my first dime store airbrush and some implement paint and decided that while my parents were at work, mom was going to get a make over on some of her yard equipment. So as they say, 'while the cats away' I gave her a traditional flamed wheelbarrow. It wasn't all that good to be honest but it was a starting point. To this day,  almost 20 years later, she won't repaint it and still uses it regularly.

From this point flash forward several years. I started working in a body shop with a full time airbrush artist and a repertoire for award winning cars and motorcycles. I learned a lot and honed my skills in body the auto body and painting area. This wasn't enough and I wanted more. So I attended college at Wyotech for Street Rod/Metal Fabrication, Upholstery, Business Management, Collision, and Refinishing. While there, I met a lot of great people and gained a lot of knowledge. Since then I have worked on a lot of projects and painted even more. Everything from traditional flames to tru-fire, rust repair, panel replacement, and custom made parts. Projects inside and out, with new interiors and modified suspensions. All the time working towards the present, going out and starting a business of my own!
